Python Coding: Mon AM
Join us to explore Python, a widely used programming language. Beginners get a user-friendly introduction, covering essentials like variables and functions. Returning students delve into advanced topics like Arrays, while all students create various fun games, including a custom space invaders game.
Grades 3-5
Fee: $200 for 7 classes
Day and dates: Mon 8:10-9:10 AM; starts 4/21 and ends on 6/9 (no class 5/26, makeup day if needed 6/16)
Little Coders – Intro to Robotics: Mon PM
In this course, students use visual programming to learn computational thinking and core coding concepts, such as code structure, variables, and loops. Engaging activities boost problem-solving and creativity. They code robots for tasks like navigating mazes, detecting obstacles, playing music, and more.
Grades K-2
Fee: $200 for 7 classes
Day and dates: Mon 3:55-4:55 PM; starts 4/21 and ends 6/9 (no class 5/26, makeup day if needed 6/16)
Students will learn and practice Karate skills with punching bags, breaking boards, blocking drills, kicking targets and more! Karate-X has been teaching in the Puget Sound for 20 years, with a Martial Arts program specifically designed for preschool and elementary students. Belt rank testing is held at the end of each session, giving students goals to aim for and recognition of their accomplishments.
Grades K-5
Fee: $275 for 8 classes

Math can be fun – learn the elements of Math and build a solid foundation to succeed in various Math competitions, like Quest (Accelerated/Gifted Learning Program), through our activity-based learning. We help develop analytical skills and critical thinking to make Math interesting and take all problems head-on because we are Math Problem Solvers!
Grades: K-2
Fee: $240 for 8 classes

Get your kid's morning off to a great start with some music and fun! Hip Hop is a high energy type of dance, originating from funk and street dance. The classes focus on different stylized techniques, rhythm, and isolation.
Grades: K-5
Fee: $215 for 8 classes

This season, young artists will explore new techniques, experiment with textures, and bring their ideas to life! From oil pastel resist and watercolor layering to 3D pop-up designs and pattern storytelling, each project is a hands-on journey into the world of art. Through painting, sculpting, and mixed media, kids will build skills, spark imagination, and make joyful, messy masterpieces!

3-D Printing: Thurs AM
Welcome to our 3D Printing Enrichment Program, where young minds embark on a hands-on journey to discover the exciting world of 3D design and printing! This program is
specially crafted for students in grades K-2, introducing them to the magic of transforming ideas into real-world objects using cutting-edge technology. The program begins with an introduction to 3D printing using 3D printing pens. Students learn basic techniques to create simple designs, gradually building skills and confidence with each project. As they progress, we transition to digital design, bringing ideas to life using TinkerCad, a kid-friendly 3D design program.
Grades 3-5
Fee: $169 for 7 classes
Day and dates: Thurs 8:10-9:10 AM; starts 4/24 and ends 6/5 (makeup day if needed 6/12)
In this chess program students will practice learning with games
against their peers, have a focused lesson and play fun variant chess games. In advanced classes, a simulated tournament will be organized. Any skill level is welcome.
Grades K-5

How to Sign Up
You must have an account set up at clarabartonptsa.org in order to register for classes.
After creating an account, click "My Account" then "My Forms" in the top Menu Bar.
Make sure all "Family Information" and "Directory & Publish Preferences" are filled out and have a green check mark
The registration form is called "Spring 2025 Before and After School Classes"
The form will only show up starting at 7 pm on March 17th, 2025.
Financial need-based scholarships may be available upon request. Please email school counselor, Megan Martinson at mmartinson@lwsd.org.
All student scholarship requests will be made directly to the school counselor, who will determine which students qualify.
By request, one Before or After School Enrichment Class per scholarship eligible student per enrichment semester may be sponsored as the Before/After School Classes budget allows.
A maximum of 1 spot per 10 registration spots available for enrichment classes may be held back for scholarship students.
You can also save by volunteering as a chaperone for all 10 sessions. This is first come first serve. For details reach out to enrichment@clarabartonptsa.org
Important Notes
You must have an PTSA login (available for free) on our website in order to register.
Registration sells out FAST, so be prepared to commit and sign up as soon as possible for the greatest access to courses.
We strongly recommend you consider testing out the system and becoming familiar with it before registration opens.
You'll find the registration link, when it opens under the "My Account" section of our website, but you will need to complete all the directory information first.
Registration will open on Friday, September 13th at 10 am
All parents/guardians are required to read and abide by the Policies and Procedures.
All parents/guardians must sign and complete the Student Release and Liability Wavier Form and have their child bring this to their first class. If they are in multiple classes we need one for each.
All classes are in person.
Morning classes are from 8:10-9:10. Afternoon classes are from 3:55-4:55. Wednesday afternoon classes are from 2:25-3:25.
Most classes run 10 weeks. Exceptions are noted in the class description.
Each class session requires 1 parent chaperone. Volunteer to chaperone all 10 weeks and you will receive a tuition refund at the end of the 10 week session. This is first come first serve. For details reach out to enrichment@clarabartonptsa.org
In case a class does not have a full time chaperone for all classes, we request every participating family to sign up to chaperone for at least one class.
