Description: BINGO night is where all families are invited to Clara Barton for a fun evening. For those unfamiliar with the game, BINGO is where where are cards with the letters BINGO at the top and each row under the letter has a number.  The 'caller" (in this case our very own Principal Barker) will call out B 75, and if your column B has a 75, you mark it with a dauber (a large pen or marker)   Once you get a full row or column, you yell "BINGO" and your child will get to come to the front of the room to select a small prize.

TIPS:  We have found that younger children have a hard time sometimes following the caller so it's very helpful to have an adult there to help them so they don't get too frustrated - the event is, afterall, supposed to be fun!

Cost: The cost is $5 and that will purchase you three BINGO cards since we will run three complete rounds and you use one card per round.  If this cost is a challenge, please feel free to reach out to our school counselor Ms. Lecompte via Parentsquare and she can get you on a list to receive a complimentary BINGO booklet.  We feel strongly that this event should be open to all.  If you have the ability to donate, we are also taking donations for booklets on our site.

Prize Collection: We are currently asking for donations of kid focused items for our prize selection. Gently used toys that are no longer being used but are in very good condition are most welcome (spring cleaning anyone) or new gifts you have stashed away for birthdays that are looking for a good home.  We hope to have enough prizes for every child to take home something but we need donations for this to work. They can be dropped off in a box at the Clara Barton front office.

Why does every kid get a prize?  This is a fair question. In a world where kids do need to face disappoinment from time to time this particular event is about sharing, caring and fun.  You may be familiar with the Barton Critical Success Skills: empathy, gratitude, grit, integrity, self-discipline, and embracing diversity.   This is an opportunity for a child who 'wins' BINGO multiple times to practice empathy and grantitude as they can select a child who hasyet to receive a prize.
