Do you represent the diversity of our district including diverse racial backgrounds, language expertise, Special Education and ELL services, diverse socio-economic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, etc.?
We are seeking additional members for the Lake Washington School District Equity Team. We encourage all staff, family members, and community members to indicate their interest here, particularly those who may not have had the opportunity to be represented previously.

The Washington State Legislature will convene in January 2022, however, the campus is closed to the public. As part of the WSPTA’s ongoing “Focus on Advocacy” program to keep members informed and engaged throughout the session, WSPTA will be holding its annual Focus on Advocacy Day (Monday, January 17, 2022) and Focus on Advocacy Week (January 17-21, 2022) virtually this year. Let’s celebrate our amazing teachers and staff at Clara Barton Elementary! On December 15th we will be having a cookie exchange! All teachers and staff will be able to select from a variety of cookies/treats and each person will hopefully be able to take a dozen home to enjoy. Please sign up to bring in 2 dozen of your favourite cookies or treats. Homemade treats are acceptable!

The school is looking for 14 volunteers to assist with the vision & hearing screening, taking place 8:45 AM – 1:30 PM on Tuesday, December 7th. Volunteers must be approved by LWSD & vaccinated. Training is provided. Please sign up to volunteer for vision & hearing screening now.

The Math Challenge Tournament, a national mathematics competition, provides a valuable and fun opportunity for our students to showcase their skills in a variety of math topics.
Note: The Tournament is different than the biweekly Math Challenge and requires registration by Monday, November 29.
Who: Grade 2-5 students (Grade 1 students are welcome to participate, but will be competing at a Grade 2 level)
Where: Online. You will receive details in your email after registration.
When: Saturday, December 11, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Duration: 1 hour long test.
Cost: $20 per student. Please register with the Clara Barton PTSA give back CODE: 214, so that our PTSA receives 15% of the registration fee. Thank you!
